With the project set up in phase one, Schematic Design establishes the design criteria for every discipline and puts real alternatives on the table. Our engineers attend the meetings, prepare studies of alternative systems, and help the owner and architect select among them, so direction is chosen on evidence instead of habit.
The economics run alongside the engineering: energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis are updated throughout design to weigh each selection, and geothermal feasibility gets the same continuing treatment. Special studies are identified now, while there is still time to act on what they find.

The systems chosen here decide what the building pays to run for decades. Modeling the energy and the life cycle cost while options are still open is the least expensive engineering a project will ever buy.
